We Made It!

Ben had his last flight this week and passed on the first try and now he is home with me :) woo hoo! Our six weeks is over and now I get to keep him for at least 1 year before he has to leave again but I'll take it. Even though I missed him so much I'm glad he got to do this. It has made us stronger as a couple, strengthened both of our testimonies and Ben even had quite a few missionary experiences in Colorado. I think being in the military is going to be a blessing more than anything. I look at it for an opportunity to have a strong marriage and family. I'll always remind myself not to take him for granted and to enjoy every moment I have with him.

October 2006
This time last year we had just gotten engaged so I wanted to show some pictures of all the things we had done together in October.
The Silent Ranks
The Silent Ranks
I wear no uniforms, no blues or greens.
But, I am in the military, in the ranks rarely seen.
I have no rank upon my shoulders. Salutes I do not give.
But in the military world is where I live.
I am not in the chain of command, orders I do not give or get.
But my husband is the one who does, this I cannot forget.
I am not the one who fires a weapon, who puts his life on the line.
But my job is just as tough, for I am the one who is left behind.
My husband is a patriot, a brave and pride filled man.
And the call to serve his country, not all can understand.
Behind the lines, I see things that are needed to keep this country free.
My husband makes the sacrifice, but so do my kids and me.
I love the man I married. The military is his life.
So I pledge to support my hero and stand among the silent ranks
known as the military wife.

I saw this poem and thought it was cool, so I thought I would share it with everyone :)
