French Toast Disaster

Today Ben and I decided we wanted french toast for lunch after church. On our way home Ben had asked me why I never made french toast for him before because he LOVES it. I reply,"I don't know you never asked." He says, "I didn't think you knew how to make it." Of course, I say, "it's french toast how hard can it be?" Long story short. It's hard! After my bread had globs of cinnamon on it and too much egg (to where the egg was actually turning white on the toast) I realized this is why I never make french toast. So here is a picture of my not so amazing masterpiece. That was my job to make and Ben made the bacon and eggs. Once he saw the french toast he said, "Would you like me to make the french toast as well?" Whoever said cooking was fun? They lied. I don't have a picture of his because by then we were so hungry we couldn't wait.

I agree 100 percent. Cooking is not fun. Maybe if you had nothing else to do with your time, and a super sweet kitchen packed with all the latest gadgets, but even then I think it may stink. I feel ya.

Oooh, how come Rachel Ray always looks like she is having such a good time. I want some of her attitude.

It's hard to make good French toast that's healthy. That's why I make mine with a lot of sweetness and butter. 1 egg, 2 or 3 tbs. of Milk, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tbsp. Vanilla. Beat it together until there is no yoke and it's a light banana color and then use plenty of melted butter in the pan while you cook the toast. No egg-y residue. I love this recipe.
